Thread: Server Admin Applications

For a while now, we've been getting pretty rubbish, to be polite, admin applications.

Server admins have a large amount of power over the game servers, this power is not going to be given out, unless we know and trust you can handle it.

When filling out an Admin Application (Admin Application - FpsOverload - Exceeding Maximum Gaming Power) you are asked a series of questions.

Real Name

This is your name, as it would appear on a passport or ID card. No fake names, if you are not willing to share your real name, we're not willing to share our powers.

InGame Name

This is the name you use ingame, e.g. #Fps. Blunks. Type your most used game name, and any (clan)tags you use.

Forum Name

This is the name you have registered and use on the forum, typed exactly as when you login.

Xfire

Your Xfire username. Xfire is required.

Email

Please use a real email address that you will check at least once a week.

GUID

This is a 8/32 digit number used to identify you in servers. Do not apply if you have any PunkBuster bans or appear on any PunkBuster Ban Lists. If you are found to be faking your guid (will be checked) you will be removed from the admin team and banned from the site and servers. Lying will get you no where.

Referral

A referral is somebody who told you to apply to the admin team, not somebody who gave you the link or told you where it was. If you do not have a referral select 'Other/ None' from the drop down.

Why You

This is the area in which most people ruin their chances in. Here you need to write why should we pick you? Why would you make a good admin? How do you stand out from the rest? What experience do you have? Sell yourself.

Answers like "I am on the server and I see hackers and there is no admin" or "I want to help the server become better by kicking noobs and hackers" is NOT a valid answer, they apply to about 90% of the players and will result in your application getting deleted.

But, before you even think about filling out the application, there are certain, basic, requirements we need you to have.

Forum and Server Activity

You must have over 35 non-spam posts in the forum, and must continue to post and visit after/ if being approved. You must be an active player in our servers, know and get on with the regular players and admins.

Language

All applicants must speak fluent English. And be able to speak voice-to-voice and in chat with others. Also speaking German is a plus.

If you do get in to the Admin Application, there is no guarantee you will stay, if you misbehave, break rules or cause disturbance you will be removed.

And remember, we may deny or delete any application for any reason we see fit.

Gl everyone who applies. being a server admin you have alot of responsibility but the community gives alot back.

It is rubbish, as it applies to every player in the server at that time, like I said. We are looking for things that pull you a part from the rest of the players.

Yes, the statement can be added to your application, providing it is true, but an application with that type of answer as its only one, will be denied on the spot.

The first statement better than the second, but we chose admins over how much we trust them and how good they'll be at the job, obviously when they play contributes, but is not the main reason, and most players in the site want to help kick and ban hackers and rule breakers.

yes it is but you have to do it on a server with punkbuster enabled
