Thread: Punkbuster with Windows7

The other day I got bored and decided to look into a Win7 PB fix. To my surprise I found one and it actually works. I played 1 1/2 games on a random PB server on Win7 without getting kicked

Basically what you do is update the PB on your PC to the newest version turn it on in COD4, then open up the Win7 services menu and look for Pnkbstr A and B. Right click it, open properties, go to the log on tab and check the box that says "allow service to interact with desktop". Do this for both A and B. You should now be able to play on PB servers without being kicked(promod). I'm using Win7 RC 7100.

well, only because of the latest updates is so simple, because before, that "interact with desktop" thing wasn't there, so even if u knew all these steps, you couldn't use them

I don't see Pnkbstr a or b.

i've downloaded the most up to date pb too .

you have to make sure that punkbuster is installed in cod4 and turned on. otherwise it won't show up as a service.

so is the server now gunna be pb enabled??

no, because windows 7 pb related problems are only one of the thousands of problems some players have.
