    Custom Case Entry Worklog (raw114)

Well first i was going to do a snake cage computer cage from scratch but I went to get the acrylic only to see that me and my brother had used it all up making a normal snake cage I'm not about to go out and but more so I started looking around in my shed for something that would make a good case mod. I see an old broken guitar... (Yes all you guitar lovers it, was completely non-functional, broken, and unplayable.)

So I started this afternoon and here's what I've got so far.

I am going to be putting PC parts in it unfortunately they're all broken parts I pulled from old dead PCs I saved for some reason at one time or another though I think the PSU works so I'll see if I can get it powered on.

What do you guys think of the color? Should I leave it as is or paint it? (I'm thinking paint, as you can see it's really really scuffed up.)

A fan would sit real nice in the sound hole.

I wouldn't paint it, got the retro look going. Give it a polish, run down with a little sand paper maybe

Was thinking the same thing although it won't work with this MB/PSU they're both dinosaurs, size wise and age wise and take up the space a fan would use :/. Might end up just mounting the brackets for smaller components and skip having an entire PC (albeit a broken one).

lol reminds me of my first thought for this competition -- the picnic pc -- lol take a household object and turn it into a case nice for finnished product if you put proper components into it i think it would be awesome with all running and a conversation piece when friends are over

well atm I'm not running, nor planning on running anything high end (yes, i have found some working components and I'll use it as a media center when it's done ) inside it. so for now just air cooling. it's not even close to finished in those pictures but I did make some nice progress today and will post later. if this works out i'm going to buy a micro atx board and some scaled down components and do the same thing with the small guitar would make a good present I think.

it would indeed make a good present remeber to think of mounting this case you dont want it falling or lieing flat also try to keep the functionablity of the guitar intacted

not trying to stump you but i doubt a graphics card is gonna fit in that case measure width of the card + 7cm then compare to case height

nope. no way it'll fit. only way to get a graphics card on would be to use a sepcial ide adaptor that makes it flat instead of sticking out but that's the beauty of onboard graphics. as for mounting it i'm going to make a stand for it. it'll be sideways not on it's back/front.
