Thread: Custom Case competition

Hi people,

some of you might have follow the "I need a new PC-Case" thread. Post your own creations of a PC-Case!

Rules:
-It has to be self-made
-It does not need to be a running PC but must have space for all the components, it's ok when you got some PC-devices in it
-No Copying

This Comp runs until we get 8 submissions, must show an effort was put into the creation (ie: no peanut butter jars with a button taped to the outside)

The idea is to create your own custom case, using your own hands and own resources. No computer-case components can be used. This includes bays (2.5, 3.5, 5.25 "), however switches, lights, etc may be used from other cases.

Points go for creativity, imagination and effort. Your computer does not need to run, however one or more computer components need to be shown in the case. And there must be space for every component.

Measurements and photos need to be taken, through different stages of the development. And give it a coat of paint, make it look nice. To prove your entry is your own, you need to include, somewhere on your design "Fps/ #Fps/ FpsOverload" and if you are really cool, the logo (Hi-Def image available on request).

Each design must be unique, no copying or signs of theft. However you may base your case on an real case or something you have seen.

The competition closes once 8 cases have been submitted. The winning cases will be voted by the community.

This Comp runs until 8 images which are of sufficient quality i say because cardboard creations are not fair on other users

also i think all competitors should have a worklog thread in the hardware forum

i also think that all cases entered must have a working power button as a requirement

I agree with you on most of the above, will leave cabry to set the full rules, maybe make a more detailed thread?

I will have a think for the prize. Maybe something more than a user title.

You have to remember though not everybody has a spare computer to take a part and make a new case for, so working buttons, might be a little tricky. This competition needs a little thought put into it and it could be quite a hit and help the community.

buttons are by far the easiest thing as a simple push to make push swtch like so



these can be bought for less than 40p at most electronics stores (not computer stores)

then all needs to be done is connected to the motherboard this bit takes a bit of soldering and a relevant connector which are both relatively cheap

cabry here anybody who wants to be @officailly i think should make a worklog and then post it here for you to add to the OP

I'm in, I don't see a rule that says it has to be a modded PC case. Now where did i put that fish tank...

I agree with Oc...competition runs until we got 8 images where you see that effort's been put in.
Besides, I actually thought of creating a new case, not modding an already existing one
If some new, interesting, necessary or good rules/ideas are coming up, I'll tell a mod to add them to my first post. BTW: Anyone edit my first post please?
