I have played the multiplayer for a little while now, and I'm really enjoying it. There are a couple of features it does lack, like being able to view your ping in-game, but overall its a nice, well made game. In my opinion Call of Duty 4 has competition. Check out the Singleplayer post for more information on the story and game workings.

The game controls take a little time to get used to and you have to adjust to the new weapons and vehicles. This like the collapsible buildings really make the game interesting. You can't be safe, even if you hide! There are four game-types;
Squad Deathmatch - Squads with up to 4 players all play against each other all at the same time, like Team Death Match.
Rush - One team defends M-com Stations, whilst the other team attacks it.
Squad Rush - Like normal Rush, but in squads of four players, two M-com Stations, each team has to attack the enemy station whilst defending their own.
Conquest - Like Capture the Flag, the enemy team has to take control of the other teams flags, whilst you have to take control of the enemies.
The rank up system is a lot like most games, you rank up by getting kills, special kills and doing new things. Whilst you rank up, you unlock new weapons and perks.

The game is a little buggy in places, but with patches they will be fixed. The Punkbuster INT failures have already been sorted with a server patch. There are three ways to connect to a server, through the Server Browser, Through a Play Now system or by joining your friends game.
The Game Server browser just displays a list of all the active Battlefield BC2 servers, displaying their name, game-type, map, players and ping. You have a filter to for Game-type, Map, (un)Ranked, Not Full/ Empty, No Pass, Punkbuster. As well as a search feature. You can get full information on a server by clicking Server Info from the drop down.

The Play Now system will find a set of servers that suit you, you choose a game-type and a map you like and the game will find a server close to you that is not full or empty.
